My channel is meant to showcase automata pieces that I design and construct. Automata is a kinetic art form and video is a key way to share the work I do and have others share in the experience. I also use the channel to share images of my garden railway, another passion of mine.

Automata - "The Invisible Audiophile"

This automata was inspired by a Fourteen Ball Toy Co. piece (Paul Spooner/Matt Smith) circa 1988 called "Invisible and Alone". I always found it magical and wanted to pay homage to its creativity by making something similar myself. After some thought "The Invisible Audiophile" was envisioned.

Automata - "The Parking Lot Wars"

This automata depicts a raucous bunch of seagulls fighting over the last remnant of fry discarded in a fast food parking lot. Mother Nature would roll over in her grave about this abandonment of the natural food chain. The fry must be too salty, as it is sampled by two of the scavengers and dropped. One group of penguins seek revenge as masquerading as killer whales, the leopards seals enemy to terrorize them so they will flee the area. A small boy has captured a frog and put him in a glass jar for observation. Despite his attempt to create a pleasant environment for him the frog is determined to escape. The little frog is clever. He has taken a pebble from the jar and taps on the glass to get the attention of a passerby who might set him free.
